We initially set out to create a single Pinot Noir that celebrated the very best of the Russian River Valley as a whole, but we were delighted to find several of the vineyards had quite a lot to offer on their own. When good land teaches you something about itself, you’d be wise to listen. So, we set about developing a series of single-vineyard wines to show the full flavor of what these wonderful vineyards can produce.
Along a gently rolling hillside in the warm Upper Middle Reach of the Russian River Valley sits Amber Ridge Vineyard. The Pinot Noir wine grapes grown here are both the backbone of our "Les Pommiers" blend and an exquisite single-vineyard vintage in their own right. The powerful palate that Amber Ridge Pinot offers is balanced perfectly with bright acidity. Juicy, red fruit not only leads the nose but also delights the palate, with bursts of Bing cherry wrapped in a velvety density.
SHOP NOW Located off of Westside Road in the Middle Reach area of the Russian River Valley, the steeply sloped Bucher Vineyard grows two heritage clones to produce this enchanting single-vineyard Pinot Noir. Warm days and breezy, cool evenings help to accentuate the dark fruit aromas and earthy flavors of this classic wine.
SHOP NOW Acquired as an abandoned apple orchard, Northern Spy Vineyard sits just outside the town of Graton, in the Green Valley area of the Russian River Valley. The cooler climate of this area lends the wine a body full of rich, intricately layered dark fruit, with elegant touches of minerality. The concentration of flavor on the mid-palate makes this a wine that will age gracefully for years to come.
SHOP NOW Sitting high atop a hill overlooking the Russian River Valley, often shrouded in fog, sits Marty's Vineyard. This very cool area of Green Valley, along with the vineyard's coastal proximity, creates vines that are balanced, mature evenly, and ripen without ever seeing temperatures above 88 degrees. The resulting wine is bursting with spicy red fruit and wrapped in elegantly silky tannins.
